Alnwick Rum Appreciation Society

Hi,
I appreciate you must be very busy, but I thought I would just let you know that I truly believe that your Alnwick Rum is THE finest rum I have ever had the honour or indeed the appreciation of drinking. As an ex navy boy (royal marines) I have sampled many rums around the world as rum is my preferred drink and I honestly can say I have never enjoyed a drink as much as I enjoy Alnwick Rum. The flavour, taste, sensation that your Rum delivers is unique. I look forward to when you are able to bring back the brewery that Alnwick once favoured.

Dear Alnwick Rum,

My husband and I recently visited Blackfriars restaurant in Newcastle. I'm not normally a hard liquor drinker but I was intrigued by their description of Alnwick Rum... "the good stuff". I was not disappointed when I ordered it... twice on the same trip. Alnwick Rum packs a delicious flavor, a mild sweetness and a rustic woodsy finish. I loved it and only wish there was a way for me to get it back here in the States!!

I understand that my Dad informed you of my liking for your rum a while
ago, so I thought that i would keep you abreast of developments.

I am a Plumber by trade and have recently revamped the cloakroom at Mum &
Dad's house - what's known in the trade as a "love job" free gratis.

Imagine my delight as the postman knocked the door a week later with an
unexpected package as my reward!

It's just a shame they don't have more "love jobs" for me to do as i will have to wait until my birthday to hopefully taste the Alnwick ambrosia again!

That was until I persuaded Dad to reveal your email address so unfortunately for him he will have to find me something else for my birthday as i will be ordering a case of "Alwick Rum" or "The Mutts Nutts" as it is affectionately known ASAP.

I really enjoyed the rum (so much so i only have a third of the bottle left and a stinking
hangover this morning). When I opened the bottle it was like being dumped
back in the 80's when I was a kid and my mum was making Christmas cakes and
when I tasted it I was shot back even further.


The aftertaste is like liquorice and it also reminded me of something my
dad always got me from the chemist after going to the doctors he called it
"cuddy root" it was a root, and it probably had something to do with the
flavouring of the sweet.

My girlfriend liked it as well, with her being Finnish she was getting the flavour of the liquorice as well and said it reminded her of her favourite salmiaki sweets from Finland and the salt liquorice she gets when in Sweden. Thanks very much for getting me a
bottle of this wonderful time travelling rum its awesome, I will certainly
be buying it from now on lack of funds or no!!

Just to let you know the Birthday Rum went down a treat for my son's
birthday yesterday. His partner couldn't understand why he was so pleased:
"It's just a bottle of rum" she said. "No it isn't" he replied, "This is
the MUTTS NUTS"
So there you have it.

Had a recent trip to Northumberland and purchased a bottle of your
delicious rum. Never having heard of this brand in our part of the country
Bristol thought I would take a bottle home as a present for my son who is
an ardent rum drinker.

"Dad this is the best rum I have ever tasted - even
better than Pussers" were his words. Now we have a problem because there are
no stockists in this part of the country and I noticed you do not have an
internet ordering service yet. Please can you come to my rescue as I would
like to surprise him with a bottle on his birthday 1st October.

Dear Sir,

My youngest son was recently Second in Command on HMS Northumberland and visited your Establishment.
As I have been a rum drinker for over 50 years, he bought me a bottle and I just wanted to say that it is the very best rum I have ever tasted. Believe me, after ten years in the Merchant Navy, I have tasted a lot!
I am trying my best to make it last as down here in Godalming, Surrey, we don't have any stockists. It would be a real breakthrough if you can sort out your "on line" shopping as soon as possible. I don't know how much longer I can make this bottle last and my son is now shore based in Portsmouth.

Tried Alnwick in the Ship Inn in Seahouses. Absolutely brilliant, and that's a malt whisky drinker talking. Why can't we get it in Scotland?
