Tried your rum on Tuesday night 14th November. The aroma and taste took me back to a time over 40 years ago, when, as a small child, I would 'minesweep' the remnants of the tots of rum offered to my parents' friends at Christmas. I was caught doing it one year and was given a small glassfull of my own. I've enjoyed rum ever since, and bought a bottle of Alnwick on Wednesday!

I like the way Ian has blended the rum by marrying lots of different rums together. I like its dark heart and the viscous green edge to the meniscus - it looks proper stuff and so much more interesting than the likes of Captain Morgan rum. Indeed I'm a real supporter of Alnwick Rum; it's an interesting product and it has an interesting story.

Wonderful stuff - tried it neat at the BBC Festive Good Food Show, and my resultant purchase bowled over my friends at a recent party -when in conjunction with Fentiman's Ginger Beer it became a Dark & Stormy that would make the most experienced weather forecaster revise their views!
